Washington Man Arrested After Pump And Run

(GIBSON CO) - Early Sunday morning, Gibson County dispatch was quick to release the vehicle information on a driver that pumped nearly $100 of gas and drove off without paying.

Indiana State Police Trooper Paul Stolz was on State Road 64, two blocks away from the gas station, when he received information on a silver Chevrolet Caprice and spotted a vehicle that fit the description.

Trooper Stolz pulled over Michael Norrington, 18, of Washington, Ind. near County Road 125 South in Pike County.

During the initial investigation, Trooper Stolz was able to locate two gas cans that had also been filled during the time of the pump-and-run.

Troopers also found a metal smoking device in Norrington's glove box and determined Norrington had never received a driver's license.

Norrington was arrest on charges of theft, possession of paraphernalia and operating a Vehicle without ever obtaining a driver's license and is being held on bond in the Gibson County Jail.
