Two People Taken To Methodist After Crash On Ind. 446

(BLOOMINGTON) - Two people were injured after a head-on collision on Ind. 446, just north of Chapel Hill Road Sunday.

According to a Monroe County Sheriff's Department report, the two-vehicle accident happened at 2:45 p.m.

A 2007 Chevy van, driven by 79-year-old Charlotte Chance, of Norman was heading south, went left of center and hit a northbound 2001 Honda driven by 77-year-old Ahmad Mahrou, of Scottsburg.

Chance suffered injuries to her hip and upper left leg and was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital, and then to Methodist by ambulance.

Mahrou suffered hip, leg and arm injuries and was taken to Bloomington Hospital and later taken by ambulance to Methodist.

Both drivers had to be freed from the wreckage by fire personnel with heavy hydraulic equipment.

Mahrou was removed first by Bloomington Fire Department, while Perry-Clear Creek Fire Department responded and freed Chance.
