Officers And Residents Honored For Their Efforts

(BEDFORD) - Bedford Police officers Jeremy Crane and Derek Blackwell received letters of commendation for saving a man's life.

According to Chief Dennis Parsley on October 28, Crane and Blackwell were dispatched to a personal injury accident on Washington Avenue.

When they arrived they discovered a vehicle that had hit a tree, inside was an unresponsive Michael Kristan.

He was in cardiac arrest.

Three witnesses were assisting Kristan when officers arrived. They were nurse Julia Cootes, Angela Sutton and Sue Bower.
