(MITCHELL) - During Tuesday’s Board of Works Meeting, Mitchell Mayor Gary Pruett announced that Danny Baker will serve as the city’s building commissioner.
Baker, of Mitchell, will replace Steve Burton.
Baker's job emphasis will be on the city's building codes while helping to develop the comprehensive plan and rework the zoning ordinances.
He will serve as a substitute street commissioner, only when Street Commissioner Larry Harris is off work.
Pruett says Baker is a former city councilman and is familiar with city codes and ordinances. He recently retired from Wayne Supply and will officially start his duties on Jan. 1.
