Mitchell Public Library Looking For Donations Of New Books

(MITCHELL) - In this season of giving, the Mitchell Community Public Library is asking people consider donating some new books to the Books for Youth campaign.

Starr DeJesus, Adult services librarian says the goal of the Indiana Department of Child Services, the Indianapolis Colts and Cargo Services Inc. is to provide 25 age-appropriate books for every Indiana child, age birth to 18, in foster care.

A collection box is located in the Mitchell library near the upstairs circulation desk.

Dec. 28 is the last day to give the gift of reading to local children in foster care.
Adult winter reading to start

Registration for the 16th annual Adult Winter Reading Program starts Jan. 7.

This year's theme is "Bee a Reader." The more you read the more chances you'll earn to win rewards or a weekly prize.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Mitchell Community Public Library, Wendy's and ACE Hardware/Ben Franklin. Participants must be 18 or older.

In observance of the holidays, the Mitchell Community Public Library will be closed on Dec. 24-26 and Dec. 31-Jan. 2.
