(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against 31-year-old Kyle Hutton, of Bedford.
He was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with three counts of causing death while operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .15 or greater.
Hutton is accused of causing the fatal accident on Bailey Scales Road July 28th that killed three people and left him seriously injured.
When Bedford police officers arrived at the scene of the crash at 11:10 p.m., they found the bodies of 33-year-old Dasan Spires, Spire's fiancee, 38-year-old Laura Duncan and Kyle's wife, 30-year-old Morgan Hutton.
All three had been thrown from the Jeep on impact and killed. Police say all suffered serious injuries over their entire bodies.
The one-vehicle accident happened on Bailey Scales Road, about 100 yards north of the intersection with Riley Boulevard.
Police say the Hutton was traveling south on Bailey Scales Road and hit a utility pole on the east side of the road causing the vehicle to flip.
Kyle Hutton was also thrown from the Jeep. Police say neither Hutton nor the three other people were wearing seat belts.
At the time of the crash officers were not sure who was driving. Police did request a blood sample be taken for testing.
The report lists Dasan Spires as being the front passenger seat and said the two women were riding in the back seat.
Police found Spires near the overturned Jeep. Laura Duncan was found lying off the east side of Bailey Scales Road and the body of Morgan Hutton was found in a wooded area a distance away from the crash scene.
Kyle Hutton left the scene and called 911 from his home at 220 Riley Blvd., not far from the crash site. He told police he couldn't find a cell phone to make the call at the crash site. He was taken by medical helicopter to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.
