Jackson-Jennings Community Corrections Moving To Seymour

Last updated on Friday, December 28, 2012

(BROWNSTOWN) - Jackson County Board of Commissioners recently approved a proposal allowing the Jackson-Jennings Community Corrections program to move from county-owned space in Brownstown to a location in Seymour.

J.L. Brewer, the program's executive director, told commissioners during their meeting at the courthouse annex he has located office space in Seymour.

"We're now at the point where I'm ready to proceed with it," Brewer said of the move designed to save the county money and make the service more accessible to those using it.

The savings would occur because the program is presently housed in the courthouse annex, and utility bills are paid from the county general fund.
