Iron Order Collects Coats, Gloves, Hats For Children

(BEDFORD) - Over the past few months, the local chapter of the Iron Order, including members, Maidens, prospective members and other very valuable supporters, have participated in fundraising events to raise money to purchase coats, gloves and hats for needy children in Bedford, Mitchell and Paoli.

They collected a total of $4,650. in addition to money collected via roadblocks, they received donations with one very sizable anonymous donation.

The group purchased 258 winter coats of all sizes from a local retailer and they were distributed along with gloves, toboggans and a candy cane of M&M's.

Distribution took place through the Salvation Army in Bedford, the Wesleyan Church in Mitchell and the Women's Ministry of Paoli.
