Former Chandler Town Clerk Arrested

Last updated on Wednesday, December 5, 2012

(CHANDLER) - Another official from a small southwestern Indiana community has been arrested for stealing the public’s money.

Monday, Indiana State Police announced that they had arrested 44-year-old Timothy Osha, the former Chandler Town Clerk.

Osha is accused of using more than $23,000 from the town's accounts for his personal use.

He has been charged with the Class D Felonies of theft and fraud.

The State Police say an arrest warrant was issued for Osha after an investigation revealed that he had made numerous unauthorized purchases during a nine month period in 2011.

Investigators allege Osha used the town's credit card to buy computers, iPads, golf cart batteries and components to build a home theater system.

Osha had been the clerk-treasurer for five years. He resigned from his position on Oct. 25.
