Last updated on Thursday, December 27, 2012

(UNDATED) - The communities of Bedford, Bloomington, and all of Greene County were the hardest hit areas of the blizzard of 2012, with more than 40 inches of snow accumulation in those three cities combined.

According to Community Collaborative Rain, Hail, Snow Network... Bedford, Bloomington and Bloomfield received more than 11.8 inches of snow Wednesday.

Whether it was scraping the sidewalk, or clearing the highway, Hoosiers spent a large part of Wednesday digging out of the big storm.

Motorists commuting to work found themselves in blizzard conditions, with high winds and whiteouts.

Many motorists on Ind. 37, had no traction so they had no other choice, but to pull over to the shoulder and put on their hazards lights. Indiana State Police says Ind. 37 was clogged for hours with stranded motorist.

The forecast for today has highs reaching 30 degrees with partly cloudy skies. Friday highs reach the low 30s with a chance of snow Friday night into Saturday. As of right now, up to an inch of snow is possible.
