(JACKSON COUNTY) - A Bartholomew County man died in an early-morning wreck Friday on U.S. 31 in far northeastern Jackson County.
Kevin L. Jeffries, 49, Columbus, was pronounced dead at the scene, Jackson County Coroner Roger Wheeler said.
Wheeler said the results of an autopsy conducted by Dr. George Weir on Friday morning at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour showed Jeffries died of blunt force trauma.
Jackson County Sheriff Michael Carothers said the wreck, reported at 1:59 a.m., occurred just south of the bridge over Sand Creek, which is the dividing line between Jackson and Bartholomew counties.
