Bird Watchers Needed At Patoka Lake For Christmas Bird Count

(PATOKA) - Experienced bird watchers are being asked to assist Patoka Lake and Department of Natural Resources staff with the annual Christmas Bird Count on Tuesday, December 18th at Patoka Lake.

There are 26,000 acres to cover and plenty of birds to count.

Bird enthusiasts are welcome to help record birds they see and hear. Meet at the Patoka Lake Visitor Center at 8 a.m. If interested in calling owls before 8 a.m.

Come for a few hours or stay the entire day. Bring binoculars, scopes, and field guides. Plan to dress for the weather.

This program is free of charge.
