Washington Police Interrupt Daylight Burglary

(WASHINGTON) - At 12:24 p.m. Thursday, Washington Police received a call reporting a daylight burglary.

The caller said that a male was kicking in the door of an apartment at 804 E. Main and the occupant of the apartment was at work.

The caller was unable to give the number of the apartment but said the door faced N.E. 8th Street. Washington Police Officers were on the scene within minutes and the caller, who was still on the phone, confirmed they were at the correct apartment.

Officers apprehended 28-year-old Zachery Daniel Sponn, of Washington, who was charged with burglary and attempted theft.

Sponn was taken to the Daviess County Security Center where he is being held on $10,000 bond.

The investigation into the incident is continuing.
