(MITCHELL) - Spring Mill State Park and Cave River Valley preserve will be closed to the today and Tuesday for the second round of its controlled deer hunt.
The park will reopen Tuesday afternoon.
The goal of the planned hunts is to curb the exploding populations of white-tailed deer in the state.
In the first two days of the hunt, 48 deer were killed at Spring Mill and its neighboring preserve, Cave River Valley.
