(ELLETTSVILLE) - Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the death of 27-year-old Daniel Cutshaw, of Spencer.

According to Indiana Conservation Officer Angela Goldman, the call reporting the crash came in around 4 p.m. on private property off of Reeves Road in Monroe County.

Police say Cutshaw was maneuvering up a steep hill when his Honda 4-Trax 250 rolled backwards.

Cutshaw was pinned under the ATV. His passenger jumped off the ATV, escaping injuries.

Both Cutshaw and his passenger were wearing helmets. But that didn't prevent his fatal head injury. Goldman says he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Goldman alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Assisting at the crash site was Indiana Conservation Officers, Ellettsville Fire Department, Monroe County Sherriff's Department and Bloomington IU Health Ambulances.
