Last updated on Saturday, November 17, 2012

(BEDFORD) - A Bloomington man crashed landed his plane in a field Friday afternoon.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley the pilot was not injured when he landed the four-seater private plane. And there was only minor damage to the plane. Parsley says no one else was in the plane.

The man called 911 at 3 p.m. and told dispatchers he had landed the plane in a field off Hidden Acres Drive.

"The man left Virgil I. Grissom Municipal Airport and lost power," Parsley says. "He was trying to get back to the airport, but couldn't make it."
