(BEDFORD) - The North Lawrence schools will purchase three new buses.
Director of Transportation Darren Waggoner recommended the board buy the three 15-passenger buses from Kerlin Bus Sales and Leasing of Silver Lake.
The cost will be $42,582 per vehicle, which includes outfitting each vehicle with lettering, a camera and a cargo rack in the back. Waggoner says the price is below the state bid amount.
The new buses will replace three vehicles that were purchased in 1995.
Waggoner says one bus will be kept. The seats will be taken out and will be used to haul equipment. St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School also has inquired about getting a used bus, he added.
