Medora Schools Raise $2,626 At Auction

Last updated on Thursday, November 15, 2012

(MEDORA) - An effort to clean house at Medora Community Schools in recent weeks produced $2,626 in cash to help pay the bills.

Superintendent Tom Judd says 31 people bid on surplus items including old band uniforms, overhead projectors, a lathe, drill press, guitar amplifier and one school bus that netted $1,200. Two glass backboards with nets added $600.

Judd says the auction, conducted by volunteer Terry Barnes, proved to be fun as some community residents in attendance were able to purchase the band uniforms they wore years ago when attending the school.

The school might have another sale next year. Judd says an anonymous donor gave $3,000 to purchase instructional supplies.
