(MEDORA) - Members of the Medora Community School Board approved a change to the school’s away game policy after parents requested a change.
The Tribune reports that Superintendent Tom Judd told school board members parents currently have to drive to away games and then back to the school to pick up their children who play on the team.
Judd says parents requested to be allowed to take their children home after the game.
Judd says he approved of the policy change, but requested from parents, grandparents, and guardians to submit a written request to the office that states they will be responsible for taking their child home the day of or day before the game.
The second thing they must do is meet with the coach after the game and give them a written statement that they are responsible for taking their child home.
Board members and Judd clarified the person who takes the child home must be their parent, grandparent, or legal guardian.
In other business:
Board members approved Logan Farmer as the new sixth grade boys basketball coach.
Farmer will also assist Rusty Rogers who is the basketball coach for seventh and eighth grade boys.
Judd says both would assist each other during games.
