Man Injured After Crashing Car Into Tree

(LEESVILLE) - 70-year-old Lee Schmid, of Mitchell, was treated at IU Health Bedford Hospital after he crashed his 1994 Pontiac Bonneville into a tree Saturday Morning.

According to a Lawrence County Police reports, officers were notified about the accident after they received a call from hospital staff reporting they were treating Schmid in the emergency room.

According to Schmid's daughter, who took her father to the hospital, Schmid was traveling on Middle Leesville Road when he lost control of his car and ran off the road and hit a tree. Schmid was able to drive his vehicle to his daughter's home, who then took Schmid to the hospital.

He was having x-rays done when police arrived at the hospital.

Schmid suffered minor bleeding to his head.
