Loogootee Woman Arrested After Flipping Vehicle

(PIKE COUNTY) - 46-year-old Debra Wells, of Loogootee was arrested after she crashed her SUV Monday in Pike County.

According to Pike County Chief Deputy Todd Meadors just after midnight police received a 911 call reporting there was a 2008 GM Acadia flipped on its side on State Road 56 about a mile East State Road 257.

Wells was trapped inside the SUV and was freed by Jefferson Township Fire Department.

She was transported to Jasper Memorial where it was discovered that she had a broken bone in her neck. She was then transferred to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville.

A blood alcohol sample was taken and showed Well's blood alcohol content was .26 percent, more than three times the legal limit.

Wells will be arrested after her released from the hospital for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
