(BEDFORD) - Indiana University students from the school of Public and Environmental Affairs, who have been studying various issues facing Bedford, will present their findings during a meeting that is open to the public Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce building, at 1116 16th St.
Those attending will learn more about opportunities for economic development and recreational enhancement in Bedford.
The students have met with local officials and reviewed government documents and now are preparing to outline their initial conclusions.
Three teams of students have been working in Bedford. One group has been studying the economic benefits of enhanced planning in Bedford and Lawrence County. Another group has been looking into the impact of storm water run-off project and the third group is analyzing the potential for a pedestrian and bicycle trail connecting Bedford's downtown with White River.
All of the students are undergraduates and have worked under the direction of faculty member Frank Nierzwicki. The students are grateful for the opportunities these projects have provided and did the study at no charge to the city or county.
