(UNDATED) - The poll workers are ready, the machines are in place, campaigns are winding down and now its up to the voters.

Most experts expect a higher turnout than the anemic 22 percent of Indiana's 4.4 million registered voters who cast a ballot in the most recent primary.

The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p. m.

Many Lawrence County residents were at the doors of polling places as they opened this morning.

County election officials are working to make sure Election Day goes as smooth as possible for Hoosiers who will choose Indiana's next governor, senator, state representatives, judges, and school board officials along with others.

1340 AM WBIW, Super Oldies 105.5 and Z102 (102.5) will begin broadcasting election results beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Indiana BMV locations will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Deputy Commissioner Dennis Rosebrough says priority will be to get people state ID cards or driver's licenses to use at the polls.
