(SEYMOUR) - Seymour police continue to investigate reports of two counterfeit $100 bills passed Monday at two Seymour businesses.
"This is the first time I've seen $100 bills in quite a while," Detective C.J. Foster said Wednesday.
Aubrey Woods, of the Tribune reports, the first counterfeit $100 bill was reported at 10:30 a.m. Monday at The Peoples Bank branch at 1425 E. Tipton St.
Foster said that bill had come from Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Restaurant, 211 N. Sandy Creek Drive.
The second counterfeit $100 bill was passed at Taco Bell restaurant at 1509 E. Tipton St. It was reported at 1:57 p.m. Monday.
Foster said police are working on a lead in the incidents but declined to comment about that investigation.
He also said investigators are not sure if the counterfeit $100 bills are related to a rash of counterfeit $20 bills reported in Seymour and other parts of the county a week ago.
