(BROWN COUNTY) - 38-year-old Benjamin Munn, of Brown County, has been charged with homicide.

He was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Bartholomew County and Brown County officers stopped a vehicle in which he was riding near the Brown-Bartholomew county line, on Mt. Healthy Road.

33-year-old Tabaith Moore, of Trafalgar, who was driving was arrested on an outstanding warrant for petition to revoke probation from Lawrence County. She has not been charged in this case.

Munn lives on the property where police were searching for clues in the death of 31-year-old Jamie Simpson, the Brown County man was found dead at around 7:30 a.m. Monday in an alley near downtown Indianapolis.

A neighbor was taking trash out to the alley when he noticed a pair boots behind the cans, then saw a person on the ground.

Marion County Chief Deputy Coroner Alfarena Ballew says Simpson was not carrying any identification. He was identified by his fingerprints.

The preliminary coroner's report shows he died of a single gunshot wound.

Sheriff Rick Followell says police from three agencies searched the 44-acre wooded property in the 4700 block of Peoga Road, just inside the Brown/Johnson county line, for more than eight hours Tuesday.

Police believe an altercation and the murder occurred there.

Simpson had been missing since Saturday night. His father reported him missing to the Brown County Deputy Scott Bowling at 8:39 a.m. Monday, and officers looked for him at addresses in Brown, Bartholomew and Shelby counties.

Brown County officers were initially treating the case as a missing person investigation until they learned of Simpson's death midway through their search on Peoga Road Tuesday morning.

Followell say detectives are working the case and continue to gather information. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
