(MITCHELL) - 15-year-old Bailey Harris has been found.
Mark Harris, Baily's father prepared the following statement this afternoon:
"My family and I would like to thank the Bedford Police Department, Mitchell Police Department, Detective Woodward, all of our friends and others who gave us support and sent us information about Bailey.
It's amazing that so many people in the Bedford and Mitchell communities were willing to help a family they don't know.
Bailey was brought to the Mitchell Police Department by a concerned citizen this afternoon. Thank God she is safe now."
According to Mitchell Police Chief Mike Hardman a person brought Bailey to the Mitchell Police Station at 1:45 p.m. Thursday.
A woman was stopped by Bailey who was walking at Meridian Road and Grissom Avenue and asked for a ride.
The woman took Bailey to the Mitchell Police Department. Bedford Detective Cartwright went to Mitchell and transported her to the Bedford Police Department.
Bailey was reunited with her family and then charged with runaway and taken to the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center in Brownstown.
Mark Harris, Bailey's father has spent every night since Sunday looking for his daughter.
The family offered a $500 reward to anyone who could tell them where Bailey was.
Mark said earlier that Bailey had planned to runaway and police confirmed that with text messages Bailey had sent to friends.
Both Mitchell and Bedford police departments had checked several locations and run down several leads to find Bailey, they had not luck until Thursday afternoon when she and another person walked into the Mitchell Police Department.
