(MITCHELL) - Lawrence County Project Manager Bob Dillon told the commissioners his bridge crews are continuing work on the Twin Bridges.
Twin Bridges Road, an extension of Yockey Road, features two old rusty structures.
"The school buses and emergency vehicles can't use them now," Dillon said. "We really need to get this done. Right now, it has a 5-ton posting. When we are finished, it will be open to everything."
Dillon said the crew plans to replace the structures with large culverts. The project should be completed in about a month.
Twin Bridges Road is currently closed.
Through traffic will be impossible between Meridian Road and Blue Bird Pie Road and only open for local traffic.
