(CRANE) - The WestGate Academy Conferencing & Training Center is hosting an 8th District Congressional Forum featuring Republican candidate, Larry Bucshon, and Democratic candidate, Dave Crooks, on October 11th.
The focus of the forum will be on national security in Southern Indiana.
The Candidates Congressional Forum offers a unique opportunity to discuss the evolving role of national security in the 21st Century and its impact on Indiana's 8th Congressional District.
As the recent attacks on US Embassies have proven, we still live in a dangerous world. Future decisions concerning national security and deficit reduction need to be made by a well informed and thoughtful electorate.
The Forum will be an innovative and thought provoking opportunity for the candidates to communicate and provide the public with their positions on the national security community in the 8th Congressional District.
The candidate's presentation, focused on the state and future of national security in Southern Indiana, will be followed by a short question and answer period.
Questions, limited to national security issues as they affect Indiana's 8th Congressional District, will be solicited from the audience.
There will be a social with hors d'oeuvres beginning at 4 p.m. followed by the forum from 4:30 - 6:30 pm.
This event will take place at the WestGate @ Crane Technology Park and is free to the public.
The forum is sponsored by the WestGate @ Crane Authority and the Crane Federal Credit Union.
