Last updated on Tuesday, October 9, 2012

(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman and her passenger suffered minor injuries after their car hit a dump truck Monday afternoon.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 50-year-old Stormi George was traveling east on State Road 60 West and was attempting to pass a Shelby Trucking dump truck.

George told police she didn't notice the dump truck's turn signal as the driver of the dump truck was stopping to turn left into the driveway of Shelby Trucking.

George told police she was unable to stop her 2007 Kia Spectra and crashed into the dump truck driven by 43-year-old William Cassidy, of Mitchell.

George and her passenger, Vera Turpin, complained of neck and chest pain. Cassidy was not injured.
