(BEDFORD) - Shawswick Middle School was placed on a “Code Blue” alert Wednesday morning.
According to Assistant Superintendent Gary Conner a Code Blue means an emergency or crisis exists at or near the school but students are not in imminent danger.
"Sometimes issues arise where the school needs to monitor who enters the building and this is one of those situations," Conner says. "We are monitoring a domestic situation and have elevated our safety procedures to make sure our students don't witness or hear any possible confrontation. We want our students to remain comfortable and feel safe."
Conner says all the students are safe and the school is taking all precautions to maintain their safety.
