Pence and Ellspermann In Daviess County Saturday

Last updated on Thursday, October 25, 2012

(WASHINGTON) - Republican gubernatorial nominee Mike Pence and his running mate Sue Ellspermann are coming to Daviess County for a campaign rally on Saturday, Oct. 27 as a part of Pence’s “Big Red Truck Tour.”

Pence and Ellspermann will visit the Harbstreit Farm on Harbstreit Hill north of Washington on State Road 57 at 1 p.m. Pence and Ellspermann are campaigning across the state in Pence's trademark red Chevy pickup truck, and they will travel to Daviess County to address the crowd and outline the campaign's "Roadmap for Indiana."

The Roadmap is Pence's six-point plan to improve private sector employment; attract new investment in Indiana with an emphasis on manufacturing, agriculture, life sciences, and logistics; improve math and reading skills of elementary students; increase graduation rates; improve the quality of the Hoosier workforce; and improve the health, safety, and well-being of Hoosier families, especially children.

"We are looking for a large crowd to come out and greet Mike Pence and Sue Ellspermann on Saturday," said Daviess County Republican Vice-Chairman Mike Myers. "This will be the best chance for folks not only in Daviess County but also surrounding counties to see Mike and Sue and hear them talk about the Roadmap for Indiana before Election day."

The rally is free and open to the public. The Harbstreit Farm is located at 6633 N State Road 57, and the parking lots on the grounds will open at noon.
