New Deer Hunting Rules Reviewed At Paynetown

Last updated on Tuesday, October 30, 2012

(PAYNETOWN) - Archers have already been hitting the woods in search of white-tailed deer. Soon more hunters will join them when firearms season opens Nov. 17.

Both types of hunters are operating under new rules this season for white-tailed deer.

Area deer hunters are encouraged to learn about these new rules by attending a special presentation on Thursday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m.

The program will cover all changes to deer hunting rules and give hunters the opportunity to have questions answered. Rex Watters, wildlife biologist for Monroe Lake, will lead the discussion.

The location is the Activity Center at Paynetown State Recreation Area, 4850 S. State Road 446, Bloomington. The Activity Center is located next to the beach. The property entrance fee will be waived for program attendees, who should check in at the entrance gate when they arrive.

Questions about this presentation should be directed to the Paynetown Activity Center, (812) 837-9967 or Jill Vance, Monroe Lake naturalist, jvance@dnr.IN.gov.

Monroe Lake is at 4850 South State Road 446, Bloomington, 47401.
