(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department were called to a brush fire in the alleyway of the 400 block of West Brook Street early Tuesday morning.
The department was notified at 4:11 a.m. and had the small fire out within minutes.
"It was a very minor fire," says Assistant Chief Fred Cassidy. "It looked like someone had been cooking out and had a small brush pile burning."
Cassidy says firefighters took a cooler filled with rainwater from the resident's back porch and poured it on the fire putting it out.
