(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound after his .17-caliber HMR rifle discharged while he was cleaning the weapon.
Police received a call at 12:06 p.m. Sunday to send an ambulance to a home in the 900 block of Lawrence Street.
Ethan Payton was taken to St. Vincent Dunn Memorial Hospital with a gunshot wound to his shoulder.
