Marion Firefightes Called To Their Station After Semi Takes Down Powerlines

Last updated on Friday, October 26, 2012

(MITCHELL) - Marion Township Volunteer Firefighters were called to their own fire station Thursday morning after a report of a semi tractor trailer driving between the fire station and a utility pole and hitting the electrical lines.

The driver of the semi did not stop.

A witness called police at 7:17 a.m.

The witness told police he saw the semi, with a white trailer, hit the powerline and believes that is when the wires were pulled from the building.

Firefighters arrived and secured the area and Duke Energy was called.
