(MITCHELL) - It was a case of mistaken identity but not with a person - a vehicle. Mitchell Police received a 911 call reporting a white Chevrolet Venture Van was stolen from the JayC Store Saturday.
What happened is the owner parked right next to a van just like his. The owner of that van mistakenly got into the wrong van and drove off.
The owner of the van had left his keys in it. It wasn't until later that the person realized they had taken the wrong van. No charges were filed against the man.
