(BEDFORD) - A West Baden Springs man was arrested after he crashed into another vehicle on Ind. 37 at Trogdon Lane late Wednesday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, Nicholas England, 19, was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and illegal consumption.

Police say England was traveling north in the right lane, in a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta and was attempting to turn onto Trodgen Lane when he thought he had a flat tire.

England lost control of his car when he attempted to correct the steer, and it spun out causing the vehicle to died.

England attempted to start his car and that is when he was hit by a 2011 Kia driven by 72-year-old Thomas Beerman, of Bloomington.

England told police the accident was his fault.

Neither England or Beerman were injured in the crash.
