(JASONVILLE) - On October 15th, Vigo County Sheriff's Deputy Khris Morris was dispatched to Regional Hospital emergency room where a woman was being treated for injuries she received during an altercation with her boyfriend 22-year-old Cody Julian.

WTHI TV10 reports that the woman told Deputy Morris her boyfriend of two months and her were at her apartment in Garden Quarter, when Julian hit her in the face, knocking her to the ground, rendering her unconscious.

When the woman regained consciousness, Julian began hitting her again, knocking her unconscious a second time.

When she regained consciousness a second time, Julian had fled. She tried to summon help and that is when she found her cell phone had been thrown up against the wall and was in pieces.

A friend came to her rescue and, a short time later, the woman was taken to Regional Hospital.

At the hospital, she was able to tell deputies that Julian may be heading back to Jasonville, where he lives with his grandmother.

Regional Hospital staff informed officers the woman had an internal brain injury, and she was being transferred to Methodist Hospital via Life Line helicopter.

Deputy Morris got a description of Julian and alerted the Greene County and Sullivan County Sheriff's Offices, along with the Jasonville Police Department, to be on the look-out for him.

Deputy Morris also contacted on-call Criminal Investigation Division Detective Fischer and the two went to the woman's apartment and found dried blood on the carpet in the living room and on the bathroom counter.

Green County Sheriff Department assisted Vigo County Deputies in locating Cody Julian at his grandmother's house in Jasonville. He was arrested and transported to the Vigo County Jail and charged with aggravated battery and interfering with the reporting of a crime.

Vigo County Division 3 Court found probable cause earlier Tuesday and set Cody Julian's bond at $60,000 with no 10 percent allowed.

The woman remains in Methodist Hospital with internal injuries to the brain.
