(FRANKLIN) - A jailer at the Johnson County Jail has been fired after being negligent in helping two injured inmates.

Sheriff Doug Cox said jailer Chris Presley closed a heavy metal door on the hands of two inmates and then walked away after the inmates asked for medical help.

Presley had work at the jail for at least three years with no disciplinary issues.
