IU President Michael McRobbie On Top 10 List

Last updated on Friday, October 26, 2012

(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University President Michael A. McRobbie is listed among the top 10 most popular university presidents and chancellors in a recent online report.

And while the university itself doesn't crack the top 10 places to work, its 3.8 rating for employee satisfaction is very good - "well above the average rating of 3.2," according to Scott Dobroski, a spokesman for Glassdoor.com, which published its ratings late last month and saw a spike in interest this week when the Huffington Post broke out the most popular presidents category.

Glassdoor.com is a "jobs and career" community, similar to Yelp or LinkedIn. It based its rankings on user reviews and ratings over the past year, setting 20 reviews as the minimum amount for an institution or official to be considered.

Four university presidents tied for the website's top spot. They are Stanford University's John L. Hennessy, the University of Maryland's Wallace D. Loh, the University of Pennsylvania's Amy Gutmann and Yale's Richard C. Levin.

Following the four-way tie at no. 1 are: Michigan's Mary Sue Coleman, Ohio State's Gordon Gee, McRobbie, Harvard's Drew Gilpin Faust and Northwestern's Morton Schapiro.
