(BEDFORD) - An Indiana University Bedford Hospital ambulance was involved in a minor traffic accident Wednesday.

According to a report at the Lawrence County Police Department, Michael Potter, 43, 405 Butterfly Lane, was driving the ambulance during an emergency run to the 2700 block of U.S. 50 East.

The ambulance passed the driveway of the person needing assistance.

The report states the driver checked the mirrors but did not see a 2011 Toyota Prius that was "directly behind him in a blind spot."

The Prius was being driven by Harold D. White, 76, Oolitic. Police said the ambulance backed into the Prius.
