Last updated on Friday, October 12, 2012

(BLOOMINGTON) - Former Indiana University football defensive tackle 26-year-old Emile Bass was found dead in his West Third Street apartment on Tuesday after an apparent epileptic seizure.

Bass' body has been taken to Terre Haute for an autopsy, but that is simply because of his age.

Monroe County Coroner Nicole Meyer says it appears to be a natural cause of death.

Bass, played at Indiana from 2005 to 2007 before transferring to Detroit his hometown.

According to Kenya Luday, Bass' mother, he moved back to Bloomington to be closer to his sons, and he was working out in hopes to try out for the Canadian football league.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized, but Luday any services would be in his hometown of Detroit.
