Eastern Greene School Board Canidates Face Off In Forum

Last updated on Thursday, October 11, 2012

(BLOOMFIELD) - The Eastern Greene Teacher’s Organization is planning a school board candidate forum on Monday, Oct. 29th.

The forum will be hosted in the Eastern Middle School gym from 7 - 8:30 p.m.

Nick Schneider of the Greene County Daily World reports that the format will open with opening statements by the candidates; questions and answer time and closing statements.

The questions are randomly drawn and asked of a specific candidate, but then all can make additional comments, according to EGTO member Amy Ellinghausen Goodwin.

Clinton Burch will be the forum moderator.

Goodwin stresses this forum is not a debate.

Seven candidates are seeking four available at-large seats on the Eastern board.

Incumbents Troy D. Fields and Shelly Patterson have filed for re-election. Other candidates include: Duane E. Long, Nancy Nolting, Donald L. Roberts, Sarah L. Wilson, and Troy "Lane" Corbin.

Corbin previously served on the school board and Nolting is the former school district treasurer.

Current at-large board members Jacqueline Whaley and Rob Hudson are not seeking re-election.
