(BLOOMINGTON) - A 21-year-old woman reported to police she was raped by her boyfriend Saturday in an apartment on the east side of Bloomington.
She says the two had argued before the alleged assault.
The woman told police she and her boyfriend had hitchhiked from an undisclosed location to an acquaintance's residence in Bloomington, where they were staying.
At some point Friday, the woman told her boyfriend she wanted to leave, but he refused. But according to the woman he then left.
BPD Detective Sgt. John Kovach says the man returned sometime Saturday morning and began to argue with the woman again.
Kovach says the two were reportedly arguing in a bedroom when the man grabbed the woman by the throat, pinned her down and raped her. The man fled before the apartment's tenant returned that morning.
