4C Expanding To Lawrence, Orange And Crawford Counties

Last updated on Thursday, October 4, 2012

(UNDATED) - Effective October 1, 4C of Southern Indiana, Inc. experienced some changes and, along with that, have new opportunities.

4C's Child Care Resource and Referral service delivery area will expand to include Lawrence, Orange and Crawford Counties, joining our current region of Daviess, Dubois, Gibson, Knox, Martin, Perry, Pike, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh, and Warrick Counties.

The expansion is a result of restructuring by the Indiana Association for Child Care Resource and Referral (IACCRR) in order to use statewide resources more effectively.

This restructuring conveniently aligns 4C's Child Care Resource and Referral service delivery area with our Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) Intake Agent region- simplifying access for clients to both types of services.

Changes in staffing at 4C will ensure that providers, families and community members throughout the 14 counties will have access to the services they need.

For those who are not familiar with 4C, we recently celebrated our 40th anniversary. Since 1969, 4C has served the community with early care and education programs and services. Interesting facts include:

• 4C had a key role in the piloting of Paths to QUALITY™, Indiana's child care quality rating and improvement system, which was adopted by the state of Indiana in 2008.

• 4C's work in promoting continuity of care and primary care groups is nationally recognized.

• Each spring 4C hosts one of largest early childhood conferences in the region; more than 400 early childhood professionals regularly attend.

As with the caterpillar, we look forward to the opportunities ahead - continuing current relationships and cultivating new relationships in Lawrence, Orange and Crawford counties.
