(BLOOMFIELD) - A Worthington woman will be in court Friday morning to answer allegations that she strangled and beat her mother.
Nick Schneider, of the Greene County Daily World reports, Janna A. Hineman, 23, was arrested Sept. 15 after police were alerted to a battery at a residence at 106 Willie St.
She'll be formally charged in Greene Superior Court at 9:30 a.m. with strangulation - a class F felony; and battery resulting in injury - a class A misdemeanor.
Hineman's mother, who won't be identified because she's a victim, told police that her daughter (Hineman) became angry and attacked her, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in the court by Worthington Deputy Town Marshal Randy Raney.
The mother explained to Raney that she had babysat for Hineman's two children while Hineman and Bud Murray went to Spencer to play golf.
The mother took the children to the Scotland Festival - leaving at about noon and returning at 4 p.m.
When she got home she sent a text message to her daughter inquiring about what time she would return to Worthington.
Hineman texted back that she was not back from Spencer yet.
The mother then called Hineman's golfing partner and learned that they had stopped at the Worthington American Legion with another couple to have a drink.
Hineman is alleged to have returned home about 6 p.m., very angry that her mother had called Murray, according to Raney's report.
"Janna (Hineman) came at her (the mother) and grabbed her around the throat and started choking her. She said she hit Janna several times to get Janna to turn loose," Raney wrote in the probable cause affidavit. "(The mother) said that she wrestled Janna to the floor of the kitchen and held her down until her son came into the kitchen."
Raney stated that Hineman, who had kicked her mother in the right kidney area when she got up off the kitchen floor, then went into the bedroom and knocked a television off of chest along with a large mirror and smashed them.
Raney noted in the probable cause affidavit that he observed redness in front of the mother's throat "from what appeared to be hand prints."
Raney also state that the victim had a scratch and bruising to the bottom of her right eye, a scratch across her left arm between the elbow and wrist, a cut to her right hand, a scratch across the top of her right knee, and bruising to the wrist area of both arms.
Raney, along with Reserve Officer Ryan Bredeweg, were able to place Hineman under arrest.
She refused to talk to police about the altercation.
Raney said Hineman did have "marks" on her, but she refused to allow police to photograph them for evidence.
