Woman Injured After Crashing Motorcycle

(BEDFORD) - 20-year-old Kerri Childers was injured after she lost control of their motorcycle at the intersection of 16th and M streets, Thursday afternoon.

According to a Bedford Police report, Childers was traveling west on 16th Street and was attempting to turn on M Street when she told police she lost control of her 2001 Yamaha YZF-R6 on sand and crashed.

Childers was thrown from the bike and suffered "road rash" to both of her elbows, but refused medical attention at the scene.

Witnesses to the crash, says Childres was not speeding or driving recklessly. Police say Childers does have a current motorcycle learner's permit.
