Winslow Man Arrested For Not Registering As Sex Offender

Last updated on Friday, September 7, 2012

(WINSLOW) - 59-year-old Alfred L. Braunecker, of Winslow, was arrested at approximately 3:30 p.m. Tuesday on an arrest warrant for failure to register as a sex offender, a Class D felony.

Indiana State Police and members of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force executed the warrant following a compliance check in Pike County last week by detectives from the Indiana State Police Cyber Crimes Section.

During their investigation it was determined Braunecker, a convicted sex offender, had moved in early May to 404 North Walnut Street, a different address in Winslow, and failed to inform the Pike County Sheriff's Department.

Braunecker was arrested at his residence without incident and taken to the Pike County Jail, where he is currently being held on bond.

Investigating officers were Detective Chris Cecil, Sergeant Detective Marty Metzger and Sergeant Detective Tim Keller of the Indiana State Police Cyber Crimes Section.
