(BEDFORD) - The Oktoberfest at St. Vincent de Paul School will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to midnight.
Activities are planned in parking lots near the school at 1723 I St. and near the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
Tom Scarlett, a church member and who helps with organizing the event says the goal is to promote fellowship.
A number of changes and expansions were introduced last year, including the decision to move the event outside to the parking lot. Inflatables were added for youngsters.
Those will return this year and Scarlett says rides suitable for adults also will be added.
The Holy Moly 5K Race Run/Walk, which will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. The pre-registration fee is $15 and the fee for registering the day of the race is $20.
