Prosecutors To Determine If Criminal Charges Will Be Filed In Fatal Stabbing

(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Deputy Prosecutor Tim Sledd says everything is back from the lab and now the Prosecutor’s office will determine if criminal charges will be filed against the man that fatally stabbed 46-year-old Michael Holt, of Bedford during a fight outside of Rusty’s West End Steak & Lounge.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, the two men got into a fight just before 5 a.m. May 18th n the parking lot west of the bar.

During that fight Holt was stabbed one time and died at the scene. Parsley said, the man who stabbed Holt, also suffered injuries and was taken to IU Health Bedford Hospital where he was treated and released.

Police and the prosecutors are not releasing details of the fight or the name of the man who allegedly stabbed Holt.
